Paula Cooksey Obituary
Paula was a lifelong caregiver. She worked in the ICU at Capital Regional Medical Center for more than 30 years, tended to the flowers she grew in her garden, and cared for her beloved Butter Bean, and the pets she purchased for her great nieces and nephew. She loved her family and would often attend her nieces' and nephews' ballgames, theatre programs, and ballet recitals, and take annual family trips to St. George's Island. She was also an avid FSU fan.
Paula is preceded in death by her sister, Janet Cooksey. She is survived by her sisters, Kay Lewis (Ruben), and Ann Cooksey; nieces: Nikki Wotherspoon (Paul) and Liz Greene (Ty); nephew, Josh Lewis; grea nieces, Kendal, Allie, JaNiyah, and Izzy; great nephew, Levi; and canine companion, Butter Bean.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at the Lamont Baptist Church (121 River Rd, Lamont, Fla 32336) beginning at 10 a.m. A funeral service will take place immediately afterward, beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Walker Cemetery.
Beggs Funeral Home in Monticello is honored to serve the family.
