Paula K. Garner

Paula Kay Garner, age 76, of Holly, MI, passed away peacefully at home on November 7, 2025. She was born on November 30, 1948, in Flint, MI to Roy and Ella Lively. She was a devoted wife for 53 years, a mother (and bonus mom) of a total of 6 children. She enjoyed fencing while in high school, horseback riding in her younger years, bowling, playing euchre, camping with her kids when they were young, watching movies (especially the spooky kind), antiquing, going to garage sales, and playing slot machines the casino in hopes to win it big.
Paula worked many jobs when she was younger but found her passion back in the late 70's when she went to work for the State of Michigan Family Independent Agency. She continued her career for the next 25 years helping families less fortunate and retired in October 2002 to spend more time with her husband. In retirement, Paula, spent all her free time with her grandchildren, for the last 20 plus years, she devoted herself to making sure that she was a prominent figure in her grandchildren's lives. Paula's favorite holiday was Christmas. During Christmas she loved making memories with her grandchildren, so they would remember her for the rest of their lives. Paula loved watching her grandkids grow, play, and develop into fine young adults.
Paula is survived by her loving husband Earl of Holly, MI, their three children: Kirk(Ann) Garner of Waterford, MI, Jennifer Garner of White Lake, MI, and Kevin Garner, address unknown; her three Stepchildren: Carl(Robin) Garner of Holly, MI, Wayne Garner of Magnolia, AR, and Brenda(Matt Matthews) Garner of Phoenix, AZ. Her 9 grandchildren: Kassi(Michael), Corey(Kayleigh), Jordan(Amanda), Jamey(Macy), Kaitlyn, Tyrus, Ryleigh, Briannamarie, Hailie; and her 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Roy and mother Ella Lively, and sister Karen Lively-Hoy-Smith, along with several other extended family.
A celebration of life will be held at the Holly VFW Hall 201 Airport Dr Holly, MI 48442 on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holly VFW Hall. www.dryerfuneralhomeholly.com
