Paula Sue Harrison Embry, age 82, of Euless, Texas passed away on November 11, 2025. She was born on November 20, 1942 in Jasper, Alabama to the late Daniel Townes Harrison and Helen Jernigan Harrison. She was raised in Anniston, Alabama and graduated from Anniston High School in 1960. She attended Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. Sue married John Groves Embry, Jr. on August 24, 1968 in Birmingham, Alabama. Their marriage of 55 years included living in several cities in Alabama and Texas. Sue worked various clerical jobs throughout her adult life. She was a devoted wife and mother, and was a wonderful homemaker.
Sue was a dedicated member of the churches she attended, serving as a choir member, committee member, and always willing to help where needed. She enjoyed crafts, reading, cooking, and twice daily phone calls with her beloved younger sister, Beth. Sue loved spoiling her grandchildren, and her granddogs, as well as her own dogs. She was a devoted friend and maintained many lifelong friendships.
Sue is survived by her daughters Melissa Embry of Bedford, Texas and Suzanne Embry Brummer and her husband, Vaughn Brummer, of Madisonville, Kentucky; her sister, Beth Harrison Barrett of Plano,Texas; grandchildren Joshua Kashila of Arlington, Texas, Daniel Kashila and Alexandra Baker of Bedford, Texas, Aidan Brummer, Chase Brummer, and Paige Brummer of Madisonville, Kentucky; as well as many other family members and dear friends. Sue was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
A memorial service will be held at 1p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Cross City Church in Euless, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation in Sue's name to the charity of your choice.
