I started volunteering at Brookdale awhile back and I just loved Paula! I was heartbroken to hear of her passing. She loved bingo and I loved how she always had to pick certain cards. And if she wasn´t winning, she asked me to get her more that she could pick through and change out :) She was honestly the sweetest and I´ll miss seeing her and her sweet smile. Love and prayers to her family

I met Paula through my mother, Barbara when I visited her at Brookdale. She was so friendly and happily shared how she loved playing cards with my mom. In fact, they had a special deck of cards they called their own.
My prayers are now for the family, as they go through the process of adjusting to a way of life without Paula. God bless you all.

I met Paula during my first respite stay at Brookdale. We were neighbors. During my second respite stay, we played cards every day. Because of our growing friendship, i decided i wanted to live at Brookdale.
A special moment with her was visiting her in rehab and we played cards. I will always remember her cards skills because she always beat me at Rummy.
We enjoyed "beading" together and doing our crafts.
I learned that she was a great friend i could confide in. I so missed my Paula when i moved away. I will cherish our friendship.

My mom introducing her new friend, Paula, to me at Brookdale.
She had a heart of gold. My mom wasn´t doing well and she called me out of concern. But these 2 loved doing crafts together, Bingo and Rummy.
My sister came to SC and Paula invited us into her room to share with us pictures of her family and her dog. You could see how she looked at their photos and how she talked about her family the pride she had.
Obvious that Paula cared for others.
My favorite memory of Paula watching her and my mom interact. I took my mom to visit her at rehab center before we moved away and they interacted like 2 college roommates! Since we moved, my mom´s saddest day was leaving her best friend behind.
Rest in peace, sweet Paula. Condolences to her family and all those dear to her who knew and loved her

I will never forget this brave sassy lady . She had a heart of gold and always willing to make the new resident feel at home . She was my right hand in some of the activities . She touched so many lives there and I will never forget her . She made a big impact on my heart. She was a one in a million . I am sending my thought and prayers to her family. Karen Toney
