Paula Daniels McClamma, a beacon of love and faith, departed from this world on December 9, 2023, in Dothan, Alabama, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and unwavering spirit. Born on September 1, 1960, in Chattahoochee, Florida, Paula's journey through life was marked by an abundance of joy, service, and the cherished bonds of family and community.
Paula's early years laid the foundation for a life rich in love and commitment. A proud 1979 graduate of Sneads High School, she carried the values of her education throughout her life. Paula's heart found its match in 1980 when she married her soulmate, Wayne C. "Scooter" McClamma. Together, they nurtured a family, with sons Austin Wayne McClamma and Dustin Ellis McClamma at the center of their world.
Professionally, Paula dedicated thirty-five years to Sneads High School, where she served in administration with a passion for supporting both students and staff. Her work was not merely a job but a calling, as she guided countless young lives with a gentle hand and an open heart.
Paula's love extended beyond her family and career. She was a lifelong resident of Sneads, Florida, where her presence was a constant source of warmth and light. Her sister Sue Peacock, brother Rev. Mike Daniels and his wife Juanita, and sister Pam Lanier and her husband Keith, along with her mother-in-law Danylu McClamma, brothers-in-law Wade "Bo" McClamma and his wife Jan, Kevin McClamma and his wife Dyan, and sister-in-law Debra Gibson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews all survive her and will carry forward her spirit of generosity and compassion. Though she was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Woodrow Pat Daniels and Wilma Cloud Daniels, her brother-in-law Chaplain Willie P. Peacock, father-in-law Wayne C. McClamma, Sr., and nephew Little Bo McClamma, their memories remain a guiding light in her family's lives.
Paula's zest for life was evident in her love for the outdoors. She found solace in the beauty of flower and vegetable gardens and the tranquility of fishing. Her enthusiasm for NASCAR races, with trips to Talladega and Daytona, showcased her adventurous spirit. Yet, above all, Paula cherished her family and her church family at United Believers Worship Center. As a member of the Praise Team, she lifted voices and spirits, embodying the essence of worship through song and service.
Her commitment to her faith was unwavering, and she approached every church duty with eagerness and joy. In the words of Helen Keller, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched-they must be felt with the heart." Paula lived this truth, touching the hearts of all who knew her with her loving and kind nature.
Paula's life was a testament to the power of faith. She was a woman who not only walked in faith but also radiated it, inspiring those around her to embrace life's journey with hope and courage. Her legacy is not one of sorrow but of celebration-a celebration of a life lived with purpose, love, and an unwavering belief in the goodness of people.
As we remember Paula Daniels McClamma, let us honor her memory by embodying the qualities she exemplified: love, kindness, and faith. Let us look to her life as a source of motivation, to live fully, to love deeply, and to serve joyfully. Paula's story does not end here; it continues in the lives of those she touched, in the laughter of her family, and in the beauty of a garden nurtured by loving hands.
Today, we celebrate a life well-lived, a heart well-loved, and a faith well-kept. Paula Daniels McClamma's journey on earth has concluded, but her spirit soars, reminding us all that the essence of a person lies not in their presence but in the love they leave behind.
A Celebration of Life service for Paula will be held at United Believers Worship Center on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, beginning at 11:00 AM Central Time. Paula's family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service.
Flowers are welcomed by the family or you may wish to make a contribution in Paula's memory to The Sneads High School Foundation, an organization near and dear to her heart.
