Paula Perentesis, 92, of Palm Harbor, Florida, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024 surrounded by her
loving family. She was the devoted wife of her late husband, Peter Perentesis, with whom she shared 66 joyful years of marriage.
Born in, Epirus, Greece, on September 8, 1932, Paula was the daughter of the late William and Sotiria Pappas.
She immigrated to the United States in 1948 with her brother, and settled in New York City. Paula worked as a
secretary in Manhattan for several years before moving to Yonkers, NY, with her family. There, she helped her husband operate the Parkside Diner until their retirement, after which they moved to Palm Harbor, Florida. Paula and Peter shared a love of travel, visiting Greece and many other European countries throughout their lives.
Paula is survived by her loving son George Perentesis and his wife, Helen Demetriades of Colts Neck, NJ, and her adoring daughter, Valerie and her husband, Nikos Kolivodiakos of Madison, CT. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Jennifer and her husband Anthony Burrows, Jeffrey Kolivodiakos, and Penny and Costa Demetriades, as well as her great-granddaughter, Georgia Burrows.
Paula was a devout member of the Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church in Yonkers, NY. In recent years, Paula attended several Greek Orthodox churches in the Palm Harbor area. Paula was known for her faith, kindness, and generosity.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1033 West Park Ave, Ocean, NJ 07712. A brief visitation will be held at the church beginning at 10:00 AM, prior to the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. George Greek Orthodox Cemetery in Neptune, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Paula's honor to St. George Greek Orthodox Church or to the Alzheimer's Association. For condolences, please visit www.fiorefuneralhomes.com.
