Pauline Bailey

Pauline (Whitener) Bailey, 88, of Kingston, Oklahoma, passed away on October 30, 2025, in Whitesboro, Texas. She was born on July 16, 1937, in Orr, Oklahoma, to the late William Henry Whitener and Iva Lee (Cross) Whitener.

A funeral service will be held in her honor on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson, Oklahoma, with Rev. James Snyder officiating. Following the service, interment will take place at Orr Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.

Pauline grew up in Orr and attended school there until the consolidation with Ringling, earning her GED later. In 1954, she married Bobby "Bob" D. Bailey, and the couple moved to Dallas, eventually living in several states before making their home in Kingston in 1994. Pauline had a successful career as a beautician for 27 years, retiring on December 21, 2000, in Howe, Texas. She was an active member of the Order of The Eastern Star and practiced her faith in the Baptist tradition. Pauline had a passion for fishing and trap shooting, and in recognition of her accomplishments in the sport, she was inducted into the Oklahoma Trap Shooting Hall of Fame in 2005.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 70 years, Bob Bailey, as well as her sisters: infant Thelma Whitener, Evelyn Tanner, Polly Smith; and brothers: James "Sonny", Jerry, and Harold Whitener. Pauline is survived by her four children: Mary Francis Red (Tom) of Howe, Texas; Hank Alexander Bailey (Shelly) of Madill, Oklahoma; Shirley Marie Grantham (Gary) of Whitesboro, Texas; and Bert Lee Bailey of Kingston, Oklahoma. She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and other family members.

Pallbearers for the service will include Nathaniel Red, Jeremy Grantham, Eric Snow, Robert Miller, Joe Miller, and Mickeal Miller.

A reception dinner with family and friends will take place at 12:00 PM at the Orr building in Wilson, with visitation following at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson prior to the service.

Pauline will be remembered for her loving spirit, dedication to family, and commitment to her passions. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
