Pauline LaRance Eaglefeathers, Komenahe'e "Pure Woman", of Busby passed away on July 18, 2024 at the Crow/Northern Cheyenne Hospital.
She was the daughter of Henry LaRance and Rose Eaglefeathers and a proud fifth generation descendant of Chief Morning Star/Dull Knife and Pawnee Woman. She grew up and attended school in St. Labre Indian Boarding School.
Pauline married Monte Parker, Sr. from Busby and later divorced. She later married Gall Sioux Calf from Lame Deer and divorced.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Deanna and Theda Eaglefeathers, Claudia Bearquiver and Lyndon Kills On Top. Niece Arvanda Jill Stewart and nephew Shawn Long Sioux.
She is survived by her siblings Clifford Eaglefeathers and Mary Green. Daughters Katrina Eaglefeathers, Toni Eaglefeathers and Silver Sioux Calf. Her sons Levi Parker, Bo Eaglefeathers and nephew/son Arnold "Sonny" Stewart, Jr. Her grandchildren Swayd, Ryder, Imani-Rose, Kaylep, Tyrin, Pepper, Pacen, Inez, Nyleena, Nariah, Winter, Amirah and Jackson. Great grandchildren Xane-Jessiah and Venus. Nephews Jonathan Long Sioux, David Long Sioux, Nathan Long Sioux, Brian Red Star and Sealmer Red Star, Jr. Nieces Jodean Eaglefeathers, Roseen Red Star, Genna McQueen and Sarah Phillips.
She provided many years of service to Northern Cheynne Tribal Schools as an Administrative Assistant, Payroll Clerk and Substitute Teacher. She also worked for the Northern Cheyenne Tribal Human Services Program as a Social Worker, as a Secretary for Indian Health Service Public Nursing and front office of the Shoulderblade Complex. She was a fluent speaker of the Northern Cheyenne language and taught the Cheyenne Language at Busby School, Lame Deer School and Ashland Public School. She also shared the language with the elders at the Heritage Living Center.
Pauline was a very kind and generous Cheyenne woman. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, attending powwows, doing word finds and crossword puzzles, playing her keno and reading her daily horoscope.
The family would like to thank Dr Nadia and the nurses at Crow/Northern Cheyenne Hospital for caring for their mom and also the staff at Crow Awe Kualawaache Care Center.
