Pauline passed away peacefully with her loving children by her side on June 22, 2024, at the age of 78 in Kalispell, Montana.
Pauline was born September 4, 1945, in Ponsford, Minnesota on the White Earth Indian Reservation, where she was an enrolled tribal member. Pauline was born to Delphine and Frederick St. Clair and was born the fifth oldest out of twelve St. Clair children. Pauline grew up in Snohomish, WA. and graduated from Snohomish High School in 1964. Throughout her high school years, Pauline worked for Baylor’s Farm in Startup, WA and spent her summers picking berries with her siblings. After high school, Pauline started working as a waitress and working at drive-in restaurants.
Pauline met and married Lonnie “Mike” Hoover in February of 1970 after she made the move to Kalispell, Montana where Pauline and Mike had two beautiful children, Kevin Michael in 1971 and Lynda Marie in 1973.
As a family they moved to Eureka, MT for the timber Industry and logging in 1983. Pauline stayed home with the kids. She enjoyed canning and baking. She was known for her awesome salsa and jams up until her very last week with us.
After 19 years of marriage Mike and Pauline divorced. She worked several small jobs until she started at Mt. View Manor as a house keeper. She worked there just shy of 20 years when she was diagnosed with cancer in 2013. She remained the rest of her life near her family and keeping busy with anything they were doing. She hated to miss out and loved her family dearly, especially all her grandkids and great grandkids.
Pauline was preceded in death by her father, Fredrick. Mother Delphine, and grandson Jay Hoover.
Pauline is survived by her children, Kevin (Sarah) Hoover of Kalispell and daughter Lynda (Ray) Price of Fortine;
Grandchildren Lyndsey (Teddy) Burlingham of Kalispell, Dyllon (Cassidy) Price, and Ryan Price all of Fortine, and Gracie Hoover of Kalispell. Her bonus grandchildren Paige Pisk of Eureka, Ashley (Steven) Robert’s, Austin Crevier and Amber Crevier all of Kalispell. Pauline was an amazing GG to her beautiful great-grandchildren Landyn, Shaelyn, Teagyn, Lia, Elias,Brynlee, and Colt. Pauline is also survived by her siblings, Delores (Ron) Lyon, Alex (Candy)St. Clair, Maryann Turnupseed, Clara Burns, Rose (Dave)Brown, Carol Carrick, Betty Scissons, Butch ( Sheri)St. Clair, Diane (Kirk)St. Clair, Robert St. Clair, and Ronald (Cindy)St. Clair, and numerous nieces and nephews with all the extended families one could imagine with 11 siblings and the other kiddos she has picked up along the way that loved her dearly and one special person still dear to her, Barbie Gwynn.
Pauline’s “Celebration of Life” will be held August 31st in Fortine.
