PAULINE M. McLAUGHLIN

Pauline M. McLaughlin FLORENCE - Pauline Mixon McLaughlin, 87, died Saturday, August 31, 2013, in a local hospital after an illness. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2013, in Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church in Effingham. Burial will follow in McLaughlin Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, at Waters-Powell Funeral Home (www.waterspowellfh.com), and other times at the Smith residence, 7176 Gulledge Rd., Effingham. She was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late China Ernest and Hattie Lee Perkins Mixon. She was the widow of Hamilton H. McLaughlin, Sr. Mrs. McLaughlin was a member of Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include three children, Georgia M. Smith of Effingham, Hamilton H. (Desiree) McLaughlin and Rubin (Deborah) McLaughlin, both of Columbia; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two daughters, Frassie Lee and Mary Anne Johnson; a sister, Blanche M. McLaughlin; four brothers, Rufus Mixon, Frank Mixon, Billy Norton, and David Mixon; and a son-in-law, Lloyd Smith.
