Pauline Nelson, 88, of Lampasas, passed away peacefully at her home on January 19, 2026. She was born on January 1, 1938, in Lampasas to JD Ballard and Vera (Boase) Ballard.
Pauline was always on the go and kept herself busy with many hobbies, including reading, doing puzzles, attending sporting events, especially Badger sporting events, visiting the casino, cooking, and spending time with her family. She worked as a bank teller for many years at Peoples Bank in Lampasas, then First Texas Bank. She also worked at Rutland's Fashions and Western Wear before going to work at Rollins Brook, helping to admit patients. COVID forced her retirement, or she would most likely still be working. Pauline also enjoyed playing bunco and played in two groups and was a sub for another.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Louella McGee.
Survivors include her husband, Gordon Glee Nelson; her sons, Mark Nelson and wife Peggy, and Paul Nelson and wife Jeanni; her daughter, Holly Wolfe and husband Charlie; her sister, Barbara Cleland and husband Alvin; her grandchildren, Necia, Nate, Karli, Ryan, Jay, Aspen, Traeton, and Pason; her great-grandchildren, Elias, Lainey, Reese, and Jacob, and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
Services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 2 pm. Visitation will be an hour prior from 1 pm to 2 pm. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
