Pauline Marie (Wright) Peterson passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, May 24, 2025. She was born on March 16, 1932, in Chicago, IL, to the late William and Florence Wright.
A devoted educator, Pauline graduated from Northern Illinois Teachers College in 1952, embarking on a lifelong journey of teaching, learning, and reading. She began her career in the Chicago Public School District and later taught in Michigan and Littlestown, Pennsylvania.
In 1953, Pauline married her high school sweetheart, Edwin "Dick" Peterson, sharing an incredible 76 years together, 70 of them as husband and wife. Their deep love and partnership led them to Gettysburg, PA, in 1979, where they established a historical Civil War slide show and curated a military history bookstore. Upon retiring in 1997, the couple embraced adventure, traveling across the country in an RV before eventually resettling back in Gettysburg and then Thomasville.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Dick, and her son Kenneth Peterson. She is lovingly survived by her children, Eric and Kim (Foster) Peterson and Glenn and Kristen (Peterson) Clouser, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Colby Peterson, Grant Clouser, and Logan Clouser.
A private family service will be held in her honor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Gettysburg Battlefield (Office of the Superintendent), Gettysburg National Military Park, 1195 Baltimore Pike, Suite 100, Gettysburg, PA 17325; checks payable to the National Park Service or to The Gettysburg Presbyterian Church 208 Baltimore Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Myers-Baker Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 1903 Market Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011
