I wish there were words of comfort that could stop all this pain. However, that's not the way God / the Universe works. We feel it all.
I knew Pauline (mom) for 18 years. Not as long as many of the people in her life, but I watched her and saw a lot. She welcomed me into the family and cared for me greatly, never making me feel like an outsider. I will remember the things she did for my family, the love she showed me, Joey and the boys and her selfless nature.
While the world is hard and loud and anger and negativity are all we seem to hear about, there are softer and quieter things in life. A mother's touch, the small acts of love and kindness she gives. Mom was the embodiment of a strong woman who showed her love through Acts of Service. She always made sure everyone was fed, her home was clean and she took care of people. Not just blood family, but everyone.
The words Joey would say after his daily conversation with his mom will forever be in my mind - "Babe, mom says she loves you - guys Wela says she loves you!". "Love you mom .. love you Wela, bendición!"
I love you Mom. Bendición in Heaven. Because there is no doubt in my mind that's exactly where you are. May you be held in God's arms in Paradise for eternity. Because you deserve nothing less.
