Peggie was born in Glendive, MT on October 13, 1942 to Stanley and Hazel Spillum. She was raised on the family homestead near Circle, MT. Peggie attended a one room country school for her early education prior to transferring to Circle High School.

On December 27, 1959 Peggie married Richard Munson. Rich and Peggie lived most of their married life in Conrad, where they worked hard and raised their four children. They were married 53 years at the time of his passing in 2013.

Peggie stayed home and cared for her children until they were of school age. Then she went to work at Pondera Medical Center where she spent over 30 years caring for the people in long-term units. She loved working with the elderly and infirmed in each role she took there from laundry and housekeeping, to nursing assistant, to activities department. After retirement from PMC, she did activities with the residents at the Heritage Center in Shelby and volunteered at the Cedar Closet to keep busy.

Peggie loved flowers of every kind, decorating for every holiday, traveling and procuring collections of things that interested her. She also enjoyed the homemaking arts including cooking, canning, sewing and gardening. Peggie was very generous with her time and talents. She was a Girl Scout Leader and active member of the Moose Lodge for many years. Later in life she became a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed organizing and participating in many activities with them.

Family and friends meant the world to Peggie and she did her best to help anyone who needed it. She is survived by her children Ruth Olson, Richard Dean Munson, Joan Delaney of Conrad; Cheryl (Arnie) Pearce of Pendleton, OR; Sister Linda Whiteaker of Fredonia, AZ; Grandchildren Shalee Terry, JC Olson, Julie (Mac) Redfern, Josh Pearce, Becky (Matt) Ramirez, Katie Pearce, Amanda and Cheryl Anderson; Great grandchildren Daemaen, Galvinn and Raven Munson, Jack Redfern; and great great grandsons Azreil and Dexter.
