On January 10, 2026, Peggy Fleming Balding passed away in her home in West Warren, Utah.
She was born on October 24, 1955, in Newport, Tennessee to Steve and Beulah Norwood Fleming. Although she was born in Tennessee, she also spent parts of her childhood in New Jersey and North Carolina. She attended and later graduated from Spring Creek High School.
Peggy was a Christian and, in her own words, “a die-hard Baptist”.
She had many hobbies, but especially loved spending time watching wildlife. Those who knew her knew she had a soft spot for her Chihuahuas. She also loved to travel and was particularly fond of the beach. She enjoyed reading mystery novels, with Patricia Cornwell being among her favorite authors.
In November 1974, Peggy married the love of her life, Erwin Balding. The following September they welcomed their son Bobby to the world. Together they purchased a farm and home where they grew primarily tobacco.
Peggy is survived by her son, Bobby (Kristi); her grandchildren, Morgan (Thomas) Jensen, Clayton Balding, and Allie Balding; and her great-grandson, Grayson Jensen. She is also survived by her two sisters, Jean Mustaro and Kathy Duckett; as well as her very best friend, Penny Buckner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Erwin Balding; her parents, Steve and Beulah Fleming; her four brothers, Ricky, Bob, John, and Fred Fleming; and five of her sisters, Linda Willett, Betty McMahan, Marie Meyers, Martha Ferguson, and Lois Waldroup.
Peggy was a loving Mother, Nana, Sister, Great-Grandma, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
