86, of
St. Albans, West Virginia passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston after a long illness.
She was born in Caretta, West Virginia, to the late Rueben W. Ragsdale and Elizabeth Sopsher Ragsdale. Peggy was raised in southern WV and was a graduate of Oceana High School. She was the youngest of four (4) sisters, and was raised by her father. She was also preceded in death by the father of her children, Robert E. Belcher; and sisters, Betty Hoyt and Norma Asbury.
Peggy retired from Westfield Insurance Company after 25 years of service. She was a member of the St. Albans Women's Club and Nitro Moose. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, and supporting her boys while playing Little League, Babe Ruth, Senior Babe Ruth, High School, and even college baseball. She was their greatest fan and never missed a game. Later, she became an avid cat and dog lover caring for not only her own animals, but also many neighborhood strays. Peggy also enjoyed cooking for and the gathering of her friends and family.
Surviving are her three sons, Greg (Sharon Chapman) Belcher of St. Albans, Chris (Cheryl) Belcher of Cincinnati, and Patrick (Missi) Belcher of Winfield; and sister, Patty Parker of Pounding Mill, VA. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Maria Belcher, Max Belcher, Daniel Belcher, Craig Belcher, Adam Belcher and Isaac Belcher; and great grandchildren, Blakely, Lawson, Elowyn, and Marci Belcher.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Bartlett-Nichols Funeral Home, St. Albans with Pastor Jeff Bice officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
