Peggy Brown Obituary
Peggy Holcomb Brown age 88 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Peggy was born on December 12, 1935 daughter of the late Delbridge Harlan Holcomb and Bessie Meadows Holcomb. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her three sisters, Sybel Roe, Avanelle Missledine, and Geraldine Odum. Peggy was a cancer survivor and very active with the relay for life and a previous volunteer for Gordon Hospital. Prior to her retirement she worked as a secretary for the State Merit System. She was of the Christian faith and a member of Heritage Baptist Church. Peggy loved being called “Gran Gran” by her three grandsons.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Roland D. Brown; daughter, Nancy Godwin and her husband Steve; son, Dwight Brown and his wife Sharon; three grandsons, Ryan Bryant and his wife Lauren, Jarred Cronan and his wife Hannah, and Ethan Brown; and one great-granddaughter on the way, baby girl Bryant.
The family would like to express special thanks to Cindy Brookshire and Homespun Hospice for their care, love, and kindness shown.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 17, 2023 from 2 PM until 5 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 2 PM at Heritage Baptist Church with Reverend Shane Parrott and Steve Godwin officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving will be Ryan Bryant, Ethan Brown, Jarred Cronan, Michael Odum, and Andy Nash.
