Peggy Ruth Wilson Chew, 90 of Woodbury, GA died Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Covenant Woods Assisted Living in Columbus, GA.

Mrs. Chew was born, March 21, 1935, in Dickson, TN, the daughter of Hunter and Euvala Proctor Wilson. She would always tell everyone that she was 29 years old and holding for the past 61 years. She worked at the Bulloch House Restaurant in Warm Springs helping with the desserts and prep cooking. She has also served as a reserve rural mail carrier for the U. S. Post Office. Mrs. Chew enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching old westerns on the television, Quilting, and embroidery. She was a longtime member of the Salem Baptist Church, singing in the church choir and the WMU. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leslie Eugene Chew, siblings Joe Wilson, Betty Hunter, Dan Wilson and Ted Wilson.

She is survived by her daughters Angela Allmond and her husband Johnny, Susan Johnson and her husband Andy, son Anthony "Tony" Chew and his wife Donna, grandchildren Keith Holman (Melissa), Steven Johnson, Alex Johnson, Ryan Chew and Heath Stripling (Melissa), great-grandchildren Kaelyn Brantley and her husband Sam, Riley Holman, Erin Holman, Brennan Johnson, Connor Johnson, Evelyn Johnson, Reese Stripling Adams and her husband Josh, Brett Stripling, Blain Stripling, and Reynolds Stripling, great-great grandchildren Liam Brantley and Charlotte Brantley, along with many nieces and nephews. She was loved very much by all her family and friends and will be missed by all.

Funeral services for Mrs. Chew will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Salem Baptist Church in Raleigh Community. Interment will follow in the Meriwether Memory Gardens, Manchester, GA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
