Peggy Edwards Coppock

Peggy Edwards Coppock, 96, of Rock Spring, Georgia, formerly of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. She was born on August 8, 1929, to the late John A. and Emily Edwards in Vardaman, MS. She moved to Memphis, TN, to work for First National Bank. Peggy was a homemaker and mother first, while she served as an employee of Memphis City Schools and later was a pastry chef for Proctor & Gamble cafeteria. Peggy served in many roles at Grimes United Methodist Church in Memphis. Peggy lived a life of service to her family and her community.

Peggy was preceded in death by loving husband of 63 years, John Coppock; her siblings, Lucille Couch, Etta Hicks, Rebecca Lancaster, John A. Edwards, Jr., and Douglas Edwards.

Those left to cherish his memory are her daughter, Suzanne (Jerry) Reaves, son, Cary Ralph Coppock; three grandchildren, Hunter Dalton (Cheyanne) Reaves, Colton John (Kayla) Reaves, and Mark Aaron Coppock; three great grandchildren, Sophie Kapri Reaves, Nolan Dalton Reaves, and Caroline Katherine Reaves, several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 18, 2025, in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

A private interment will be held Thursday at Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
