Peggy Joyce Dixon, beloved mother and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. She was 89 years old.
Born in Athens, she was a daughter of the late Paul Hamilton Cox and Bill and Blanche W. Davis. Peggy was a true Southern Belle; she loved hosting, decorating, entertaining and she adored her family. She was a lifelong member of New Hope Presbyterian Church and she read her bible daily. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, George Frank Dixon; grandchildren, Cody Clark Lange and Cori Joyce Lange and her siblings, Laverne Smith, Joseph Hamilton Cox, Paul Cox, Jr., Eugene Coile and Eldridge Coile Cox.
Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Dixon Evans and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 8, 2024 at 3:30 pm at Danielsville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home from 2:00 until 3:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Hope Presbyterian Church, PO Box 556, Comer, GA 30629.
