Peggy Flynt Doub Holyfield, 87, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on November 3, 2021. She was born on July 14, 1934, in Forsyth County to Ethel Flynt and William Edwin Doub. She was a graduate of Old Town High School. She retired from R. J. Reynolds as a Traffic Analyst after a long career. Peggy was a life-long member of Bethania Moravian Church and served as a past President of the Southern Provincial Women's Board. Her greatest joys in life were her family, her grandchildren, her church, being a member of the choir, mission trips, baking and cooking, and her flower garden.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Thomas Grady Holyfield Sr, and their infant son, Thomas Grady Holyfield, Jr. She is survived by daughters, Deborah Allen (Doug) and Faye Bricca (Tony); grandchildren, Rebecca Ogburn (David), Reverend Victoria Lasley, Kelly Strickler (Sean), and Andrew Crouse (Virginia); great-grandchildren, Alice-Kay, Emma, Rocklyn, and Khaki Ogburn, Sadie and Jameson Lasley, Savannah and Sloan Strickler, and Vera and Claire Crouse; and two sisters, Susan Coss (Tom) and Barbara Cole (Dick).
A funeral service will be held for Peggy at Bethania Moravian Church at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 7, with burial after at God's Acre. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall.
