86 year old, Peggy A. Hamstra, of Wheatfield, passed away May 4, 2025, at Oak Grove Christian Retirement Village with her loving family around her.
On February 12, 1939, Peggy was born to Harold and Florence (Reinhardt) Martin in Valparaiso, Indiana. She married the love of her life, Wilbert Hamstra on December 4, 1956, in DeMotte, Indiana. Peggy loved to cook and play music. She was happiest when she was spending time with her family, and chasing Wilbert.
Peggy is survived by her husband: Wilbert Hamstra, children: Donna Hamstra, Gary (Karen) Hamstra, Greg (Janet) Hamstra, Dee (Jim) Terborg, 9 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and siblings: Virginia (Art) Bierma, and Allen (Joyce) Martin.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter: Barbara Sue Hamstra, sisters: Carolyn Birky, LaVonne Wireman, and brother: Curt Martin.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1:00 until 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at First Church, 5387 W St. Rd. 10, Wheatfield, IN 46392. Services for Peggy will follow with Pastor John Hill officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Oak Grove Christian Retirement Village.
