Peggy Hawkins Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 1, 2025.
Peggy Hawkins was born on July 27, 1936, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. As a child, her family moved to Pecos, Texas, where her father, Ray, worked in the oil field industry. It was there that Peggy met the love of her life, Jim Hawkins, with whom she shared more than 50 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they created a home grounded in love, devotion, and deep family roots.
Peggy lived a life filled with love and beauty. She and Jim raised their 4 children in Fort Stockton, TX where they owned the local radio station, KFST. She hosted the well-loved Good Neighbor Club where she interviewed town leaders, business owners, and neighbors-helping to keep her community informed and connected. Peggy also served as president of the Study Club, where she played an active role in organizing local beautification projects and other efforts that strengthened and brightened the community she loved so dearly. More than anything Peggy was mother to her 4 children, Steve, Cindy, Joni, and Jamie. Like her own mother, Peggy was a collector of beautiful things.
Peggy was a woman of warmth and kindness and she had a remarkable ability to make others feel valued and loved. She cherished her family and leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue for generations.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Helen, her beloved husband Jim, her sister Joanne, her sons Steve and Jamie, and her great-grandson Keaton.
She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Nance and Joni Biesenbach; her sons-in-law, Steve and Jerry; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson. She was loved beyond measure and will be so deeply missed.
