Peggy Toombs Hayes, age 86, of Eagleville, TN formally of Franklin, TN. passed away March 16, 2024. Peggy was born April 4, 1937 in Triune, TN to the late Thomas Bennett and Laura McDowell Toombs. Peggy was a member of Rockvale Church of Christ and former member of Fourth Ave. Church of Christ in Franklin, TN.
Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Leon Hayes; daughter, Debbie Lynn Carroll; sons, Jeffrey Leon (Vickie) Hayes and Mike (Trish) Hayes; grandchildren, Laura Ann (Tim) Baggett, Dale (Roxanne) Bennett, Ashley (Joseph) Lundy, Hunter Hayes, Jennifer (John) McKay, James (Jennie) Ford, Jesse (Kinsey) Emery and Anna Hayes; eight great grandchildren; brother, Tommy (Barbara) Toombs and sister, Becky (Prentice) Huffines. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Laura Toombs and sister, Betty Underwood.
Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Lawrence Funeral Home, Jim Taylor officiating. Visitation with the Hayes family will be 5-8:00PM Tuesday and one hour to the service Wednesday at Lawrence Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Triune Cemetery. Dale Bennett, Hunter Hayes, James Ford, Jesse Emery, Wyatt Finley and Timmy Baggett will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be John McKay, Ricky Victory, Tim Baggett and Joseph Lundy. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial donations made to the American Cancer Society.
