Baue Funeral Home - Cave SpringsPeggy “Peg” L. House (nee Ellis), of Foristell, MO, passed away Monday, November 3, 2025, at the age of 78. Cherished daughter of the late Otis and Eleanor “Jeannette” Ellis; devoted mother of Cindy (David) Barton; loving grandmother of Troy (Ava) Manzella and Connor Barton; great-grandmother of Dax Manzella; dear sister of the late Nancy Sona; sister-in-law of Donna Diamond and Sharon Wilson; niece of James (Barbara) Steers; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Peg was truly the light of every room she entered—she never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Many found comfort and peace in her presence; she was a trusted confidant and source of guidance for countless friends and family members. Family was the center of her world—especially her grandsons and great-grandson, whose games she faithfully attended until her health made it difficult. She treasured family vacations, particularly the annual trips to the Daytona Beach area with her parents and daughter.
Known affectionately as the “Card Shark,” Peg loved playing cards, as well as Bingo, Mahjong, and Pokeno. As a child, she loved spending time outdoors, fishing, water-skiing, and enjoying days by the river with her family. She was a cherished member of Teen Town, where she was known as one of the best dancers of the 1950s era. Surrounded by dear friends who shared many joyful celebrations together, she was fondly known as the “Tiny Dancer” of the group. Peg was a proud graduate of Ritenour High School. She brought energy and passion into her career in insurance, excelling as a Customer Service Representative, trainer, and Claims Adjuster. Peg’s radiant spirit, kindness, and deep love for her family will be forever felt by all who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 22nd from 10:30-1:30 at the Piazza Messina on 5535 State Highway N, Cottleville, MO, 63304.
Memorials may be made in Peg's name to the National Cancer Society and Backstoppers.
