Peggy Jean Hunter, age 84, passed away on September 10th, 2025. She was born on August 3rd, 1941 in Athens, Ohio. Peggy- most often called Grams- was loved by everyone she met and gave her love freely and unconditionally. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merle Hunter; son, David Hunter; sisters, Donna Goble & Dicky Butts and brother, Rick Preston. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Whittington (Rodney Yates); grandchildren, Mikel Whittington, Angela Jordan (Kenneth E. Davis), Kara (Julio) Galarza, Theresa Whittington, Jessica Hunter, Austin Hunter; many great grandchildren; siblings, Gary Preston, Bev McKean, Chris Taylor, Tammy Preston, Pam Preston, and Chip Preston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Orient United Methodist Church at: Orient UMC, PO Box 128, Orient, OH 43146.
Friends may gather at the NEWCOMER SOUTHWEST CHAPEL 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123 on Monday, September 22, 2025 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm, with a graveside service immediately following at 2:30pm at Grove City Cemetery.
