Peggy Baggett Johnson

AHOSKIE, NC - Peggy Baggett Johnson, age 73, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, at her home in Ahoskie, North Carolina. Born on September 9, 1952, in North Carolina, Peggy graced this world with her nurturing spirit.
A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Peggy cherished her family above all else. She was a self-employed jack-of-all-trades who brought her industrious nature and creativity to everything she pursued. Her love for the outdoors was evident; she found joy in camping, fishing, and especially tending to her beautiful flower beds, which were always a sight to behold.
Peggy had a zest for life and enjoyed yard sales, scrapbooking, turkey shoots, and was deeply affectionate towards her cherished dogs. Her warmth and kindness leave an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Peggy Baggett Johnson will be remembered for her loving heart, her adventurous spirit, and the beautiful garden she cultivated both in her home and in the hearts of those she loved.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Annie Castelloe, her father, George Baggett, her beloved husband, Archie Wayne Johnson, and a sister, Vickey Rountree.
Peggy is survived by her loving sons: Archie Johnson and wife Nikki; Brian Johnson and wife Bobbie; and Christopher Johnson and wife Ashley, all of Ahoskie. Her legacy is carried on through her grandchildren: Lenzie White of Ahoskie, Brian "B.J." Johnson, Jr. (Joella) of Windsor, Devin, Tucker, and Naomi Johnson, Emily Cummings, and Tyler Shaver-all of Ahoskie. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Lily Gentry, Cypress and Willow Crick, and Lena Johnson. Peggy is also survived by her stepfather, Horace Castelloe of Ahoskie, her stepmother, Nancy Baggett of Chesapeake, VA, and siblings: Debbie Hall of South Boston, VA, Kathy Webster, and George Baggett, both of Chesapeake, VA, Jerry Castelloe (Wanda), Janet Brickhouse both of Ahoskie, and Debbie Peele (Al) of Gates, NC. She leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will miss her dearly.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Aulander Cemetery in Aulander, NC, with Rev. Raleigh Johnson officiating.
