Peggy Johnson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bodkin Funeral Home - Milan on Jan. 2, 2026.
Peggy Paulette Johnson, a beacon of selflessness and familial love, passed away on December 31, 2025, after a period of extended illness. Born in Lavinia, TN, on November 16, 1946, Peggy lived a life marked by an unwavering commitment to her family and friends, a legacy that is sure to endure through the generations that follow. Her final days were spent in Jackson, TN, surrounded by the love and comfort of her cherished family.
Peggy's early years in Lavinia laid the foundation for the remarkable woman she would become. She was the beloved daughter of John D. and Mary Pauline McAlexander Seavers, who preceded her in death, along with her brothers, Larry Seavers and John Paul Seavers, and her sister, Rita Karon Seavers. Despite these losses, Peggy's capacity for love and care only grew stronger, traits that would become her hallmark.
In life, Peggy's joy was her family. She is survived by her devoted son, Terry Johnson, and his wife, Jo Ann, who will carry forward her legacy of kindness. Her brother, Gary Seavers, and his wife, Dale, along with her sisters, Shelby Horn and Lecia McCoy, will forever cherish the memories they shared. Peggy's grandchildren, Brian Johnson (Ashley) and Stephen Johnson (Megan), were among the brightest lights of her life. Her love for them was boundless, and she took immense pride in their accomplishments. Peggy's great-grandchildren, Braxton Taylor, Aiden Taylor, Olivia Johnson, and Emma Johnson, brought her immeasurable joy, and their memories of her will be treasured as precious gifts.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2025, at Bodkin Funeral Home at 2 PM with burial to follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Lavinia. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 5 - 8 PM and on Sunday from 12 - 2 PM at the funeral home.
