Mrs. Peggy Jo Johnson

Funeral services for Mrs. Peggy Jo Johnson, 91, of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, formerly of Henderson, will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 2, 2026, in the chapel at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home with Rev. Randall Morris and Gene Gossett officiating. Interment will follow at Rusk County Memorial Gardens under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 PM on Sunday, February 1, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Johnson passed from this life on January 25, 2026, in Lakewood, Colorado. She was born July 19, 1934, in Yazoo City, Mississippi to the late Charles Noblin and Christine (Johnson) Bennett. She has lived in Wheat Ridge, Colorado for the last eight years and was previously a resident of Rusk County for 52 years. Mrs. Johnson had been the owner of Peggy's Dress Shop and C.J.'s Convenience Store and she was a member of Beta Sigma Phi. She was also a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Lewis Johnson of Henderson, grandparents Charlie Bennett and Daisy Peaster Bennett of Jackson, Mississippi, and James Holloman Johnson and Mattie Gary Johnson of Pea Ridge, Mississippi, and her brother and sisters Grady Samuel Ketchum of Louise, Mississippi, Wylodine "Doll" Ketchum Jersey of Aloha, Oregon, and Charlotte Bennett Davis of Ridgeland, Mississippi.

Survivors include her son Charles R. (Randy) Johnson and wife Tracey; five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Peggy Jo was lovingly known to her family and friends as Granny. Her heart warmed every time she was with her grandchildren, Erin Phillips, Chas Johnson, Allie Plumlee, Joshua Johnson, Caleb Johnson, and the great-grandchildren, Brittan, Corrigan and Daxxon Johnson, Elizabeth and Weston Phillips, Ryan and Emmy Plumlee.

Pallbearers will be Chas Johnson, Joshua Johnson, Caleb Johnson, Michael Phillips, Stephen Plumlee, Brittan Johnson, and Corrigan Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Daxxan Johnson and Weston Phillips.
