Smith Benton Funeral Home - BentonPeggy Koen Sutton, 89, of Benton, passed from this life on November 4, 2025. Born on May 23, 1936, in Centreville, Mississippi, Peggy lived a life rooted in love, faith, and devotion to her family.
Peggy was the heart of her home—always caring for others, creating a place that was as welcoming as it was beautiful. Her faith was steady and sincere. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where her love for God and others shone brightly. Whether tending her garden or watching the birds outside her window, she found joy in life’s simple blessings.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Peggy’s love was constant—a quiet strength that her family could always depend on. She offered kindness and wisdom to everyone who knew her, leaving behind memories filled with laughter, warmth, and grace.
She is survived by her children, David Sutton of Benton, Arkansas, and Elizabeth “Jo” Clark of Evanston, Illinois; her grandchildren, Andrew Clark, Abbey Clark, Jessica Stovall and husband Dan, and Danielle Hearn and her husband Todd; and her great-grandchildren, Levi, Hadlie, and Cason Hearn, and Avery and Brooke Stovall, who brought her endless joy.
Peggy is also lovingly remembered by her brothers, Bill Koen and his wife Glenda of Mountain Home and Milton Carl Koen, Jr. of Little Rock. Many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends will also cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Windell Sutton, with whom she shared a lifetime of love; her parents, Milton Carl and Nellie Kathleen (Zeigler) Koen; and her sister, Doris Martin.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Smith Family Funeral Home in Benton. A celebration of her life will follow on Wednesday, November 12, at 10:00 AM, with burial at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
Peggy Sutton will be remembered for her gentle spirit, deep faith, and the love she poured into her family. Her light lives on in all who knew her.
