Peggy June Montgomery 87, loving Wife and mother went to be with her Lord on January 30, 2025.
Peggy was born on January 11th, 1938, in Roswell NM. She is proceeded in death by her husband William (Bill) Montgomery, her parents Floyd and Dorthy Lorton and great-grandchild Issac Paul Montgomery.
Peggy is survived by three sons and their spouses, William D. Montgomery III and his wife Gloria, Michael J. Montgomery and his wife Maria, and Danny W. Montgomery and his wife Jana. Two sisters, Norma Anderson husband Bob Anderson, Verletta Witt husband Larry Witt, Her Brother Jerry Lorton, and his wife Jenny Lorton.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren Monty, Robby, Andy, Taylor, Jeremiah, Cody, Kylie, and Amber, four granddaughters in laws and on grandson in law, one step-grandson Tim, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 step-great- grandchildren.
Peggy was a lifetime resident of Roswell; she graduated from Roswell High School in 1956. Mom loved to take drives around Roswell and talk about all the changes she had witnessed and told many stories about Roswell. She also loved going to the mountains for picnic or family camping trips. She would always talk about her life as a child in Roswell.
In November 1956 Peggy met Bill Montgomery. They married on November 1st, 1957, in her parents’ living room. They spent 61 wonderful years together.
Peggy was teacher aid and title one instructor for many years. She loved working with her kids as she would call her students.
Peggy was a member of Crace Community Church and loved to sing and worship God.
The family would like to thank the Staff of Beehive. What a blessing you have been in her life of the past Years.
Her pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 4:00PM-6:00PM. And Friday February 14, 2025, from 4:00PM-6PM at LaGrone Funeral Chapel in Roswell, NM.
Per mom’s request for Graveside services will be Saturday February 15th, 2025, at General Douglas McBride Cemetery at 11: 00 A.M.
