Peggy Jean Reid, age 62, our caring, kind, loving, and supportive wife, mother, “Mimi”, sister, aunt, and friend passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 5, 2024, in the serene surroundings of Petoskey, Michigan.
Peggy was born in Wayne County on December 5, 1961, to Eugene & Donna (Hyatt) Reid. She grew up in Northville and eventually moved to Vassar in 1997. In her working years, Peggy worked for Chrysler and as a home health aide. She had a heart of gold and to her family and friends, she was so supportive and always ready with an encouraging word or a reassuring hug. She enjoyed travelling, camping, fishing, spending time by water. She embraced the role of "Mimi" with pride and was the adoring and devoted grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Further, she liked to search for treasures at garage sales and go shopping.
She is survived by her husband of 17 years Frank Hatfield; children Joe (Tracy) Cartner, Brian (Brittney) Cartner, Erik (Amy) Hatfield, Heather (Tommy) Arnett, Jenna Hatfield, and Kara (Wayne) Williams; the lights of her life, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Kim (Paul) Pattwell, and Penny Brooks; as well nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Eugene & Donna; sister, Bonnie; and very good friend, Reed Schlicker.
