Peggy H. Wisenbaker, 90, beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026, at Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta. Born in Lowndes County on September 24, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Kathryn Morris Hamby.

Peggy dedicated much of her life to education, serving as a Para-Pro at Clyattville Elementary School for 47 years, where she touched the lives of countless children with her kindness and dedication. A faithful member of the Dasher Church of Christ, her faith was a cornerstone throughout her life.

She was the widow of Harold Wisenbaker and is survived by her daughters and their spouses: Leah and Scott Lehman of Valdosta, Gina and Wendy Colson of Valdosta, and Ann French of Arlington, Texas. Peggy also leaves behind her siblings, sister, Patsy and Bobby Sutton of Gainesville, Florida; sisters, Joyce Tomlinson of Mayday, and Kathy and Wayne Stringer of Valdosta; brother, Jimmy and Betty Hamby of Nashville, Tennessee; brother-in-law, Fred Wright of Valdosta.

Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Trevor (Amanda) Lehman, Lance (Brooke) Lehman, Willis (Lindsay) Colson, Katie (Austin) Plyler, Grant (Shelby) Colson—all of Valdosta—Kurt (Airiel) French of Arlington, Texas, Haley (Riley) Pace of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Amy (Colton) Cappetta of Rogers, Arkansas. She was also blessed with eighteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. Peggy is further survived by sisters-in-law Faye Wisenbaker of Valdosta, Kay Parker of Rome, Georgia, and Gail (Robert) Hunter of Valdosta.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Harold Wisenbaker, sister, Diane Wright, brother, Johnny Hamby, son-in-law George French, and grandson Dustin Lehman.

A funeral service to honor Peggy’s life will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Dasher Church of Christ, with Mr. David Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the church on Monday. Burial will follow at Dasher Cemetery.
