Peggy Moreci Wurz

Peggy Moreci Wurz, age 71, passed away on November 27, 2025, in Metairie, Louisiana. Peggy was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend whose warmth, humor, and fierce devotion to her family touched everyone who knew her.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Rita and August Moreci, her husband, George Wurz, whom she lovingly cared for throughout the last ten years of his life, and her son, Stephen Lacoste (Kristy).

She is survived by her children, Frank Catalano (Stephanie) and Melissa Lacoste; her cherished grandchildren, Kayla, Landon, Logan, Laney, and Tyler; her great grandson, Silas; her brother, Robert Moreci (Sue) and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved her dearly.

Peggy was known for her love of life, her joy in music, and the deep affection she shared with her neighbors and friends at Metairie Manor, where she built a warm and supportive community. She will be remembered for her strength, her loyalty, and the way she embraced her family with her whole heart. Peggy had a bright uplifting personality, the kind of person who brings sweetness into any room. She loved to dance, laugh, and savor life's little pleasures - especially chocolate.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at St. Benilde Catholic Church, 1901 Division Street, Metairie, LA 70001 on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Private interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Peggy's honor to the charity of your choice.
