Peggy Jean Eanes Young, 70, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 30, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on June 9, 1953 in Martinsville, VA to the late Stanley Hugo Eanes and Sylvia Elizabeth Boyd Johnson, and was the wife of 35 years to Thomas “Tommy” Marion Young of the home.
Peggy retired after 41 years with Cox Toyota as their parts and service director. She enjoyed going fishing, traveling, trips to the beach, but most of all loved spending time with her grandchildren. Peggy was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
Survivors other than her husband Tommy Young include her children, Stacey Lynne David, Adam Jeffrey Pollock and wife Veronica, Christopher Thomas Young and wife Jennifer, and Shannon Denise Young; grandchildren that she adored, Kaylee David, Alexis David, Amelia Pollock, Benny Bohrer, Andrew Young and Rylee Young; and several nieces and nephews. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Larry Eanes, Wesley Eanes and Mark Johnson.
The graveside service to celebrate Peggy’s life will be held at 11:00am Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Cross Roads Presbyterian Church Cemetery by Rev. Kate Harper. The family will receive friends along with a reception following the service in the fellowship building and other times at the residence.
