Penelope Hahn

Penelope Ann "Penny" Hahn, 77, of Mandeville, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025. Born on October 16, 1947, in New Orleans to Marjorie and William Ford, Penny grew up in a loving home surrounded by her siblings, Cartha, William, and the late Andrew Ford. Penny was known for her outgoing spirit and unfailing kindness; traits she carried with her throughout her life. She was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as Worthy Matron of Rachel Jackson Chapter No. 241 and found great joy in building lifelong friendships and serving her community. Reading was one of her lifelong passions, and she could often be found sharing her favorite books with friends and family. Penny's devotion to her family was evident in every aspect of her life. She is survived by her sons, Daniel Bares and Mickey Pena; her brother, William Ford; and her sister, Cartha Galy. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herbert Hahn, as well as her parents and brother Andrew Ford. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Penny's life at Tharp Funeral Home, 1600 North Causeway Blvd, Metairie, LA on Friday, September 12, 2025. Family arrival at 9:30 AM, public visitation at 10:00 AM, and chapel service at 11:00 AM, with burial to follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, St. Rose, LA.
