It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Penelope A. Manthey (nee Williams), age 54, of
Crete, IL. Penny went to be with loved ones past in the early hours Tuesday February 27, 2024. Penny was a loving Mother, Wife, GiGi, Sister, and friend to all.
With an infectious smile, contagious laugh, and loving arms – Penny was one of a kind who always chose to find the joy in life. She was/is loved by all who have been fortunate enough to know her whether it be but a few minutes or decades. To know her was to love her. If you had to choose a woman to be in your corner, you'd choose Penny because she was a forever friend who wanted the best for everyone and always found the brightness in any situation.
Penny was preceded in death by her mother Sandra (nee Payton) Williams; her father James Williams; and her brother Tim (Charmain) Williams. Penny is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 33 years, Glenn Manthey; her loving sons Jason (Alyssa) Manthey and Jeremy (Kerrigan) Manthey; her sister Lori Williams; beloved grandbabies Hayden and Conor; along with nieces and nephews, several cousins, friends, and her fur babies.
