Penelope Wrightson Obituary
December 17, 1941 - January 4, 2026
Wrightson, Penelope "Penny" Ruth nee Horner (December 17, 1941) of Brick, NJ, died Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Complete Care at Shorrock Gardens with her son by her side. Penny was born in Ventnor, NJ, graduating from Atlantic City High School in 1960. She then worked at Atlantic City Hall as a secretary. She moved to Massapequa Park, NY before moving to Lakewood, NJ where she was a waitress at Citta's Old Time Tavern, Toms River, then Spirits Unlimited, Howell for many years.
Later, she moved to Margate, NJ working at the Taj Mahal Casino, retiring in 2012, moving to Somers Point, NJ. Penny loved the beach and was a true Jersey Girl. She spent all of her free time with her husband, Buddy before his death in 2020, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Penny is predeceased by her husband, Buddy. She is survived by her daughter, Stacey Kobs and her husband Joe of Appleton, WI; son, William and his wife Kirsten of Toms River, NJ; sister, Sharon West of Atlantic City, NJ; brother, Edgar Horner of Linwood, NJ; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Penny's Celebration of Life will be held privately.

So sad to read of Penny`s passing. Penny and my mom Angie were very good friends. They enjoyed many afternoon lunches. Sadly my mom passed October 2024.. May your fond memories of your mom help the healing process. My sincere condolences Kim.

My favorite childhood memories with you and pop were at your lakewood home. I always slept in the middle of your big bed while pop snuck oreos and you and I giggled over the golden girls and episodes of taxi. And waiting for pop to get home right before we had supper and I could make the ice-cream truck for my favorite screwball and pop would let me sneak it as long as I ate your dinner you made. Which of course I did because you were the best cook ever! Playing with all the neighborhood kids until dark and catching fireflies. I loved always having visits here with grandma Stella and grandma Terri and all my aunts and uncles and cousins. Love you all so much
