Penny Mallory Obituary
Penny was born in Memphis, TN, on September 28, 1945, to Jeans Wilson Pattinson and Judy Childers Pattinson. She was a graduate of White Station High School and attended Southern Methodist University where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Education. She then continued her education at Memphis State University where she obtained her Master of Arts in Teaching.
Penny was a lady of many talents, which is reflected in her lengthy and varied career. She began first as a teacher, then as a librarian, and finally as an administrator at Snowden Elementary School. Following her time in education she went on to work for Delta Airlines, a career that spanned over two decades. During that time, Penny was a reservationist, an administrator and finally as boots on the ground at the Memphis International Airport. After Delta, Penny worked in sales for Thomas and Betts and rounded out her career working alongside her husband, Albert, at Mallory Enterprises.
Penny was renowned for her life-long friendships, her strong faith and her laughter. She brought her light with her everywhere she went and shared it with anyone she met. She will be missed by many.
Penny was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jeans Wilson Pattison, Jr., and her husband, Albert Harris Mallory, III. She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Mallory Davidson; her son, Hugh Stuart Simpson Mallory and his spouse, Lisa Chow Mallory and their daughter, Smith Elisabeth Mallory; her sister, Peggy Pattinson Stripling and her spouse, Mark, their son Matthew and his spouse Brandon Sturch, and their daughter Katie Tannehill and her spouse Bryan and their children Wyatt, Margo, and Brody.
A visitation will be held Sunday, November 30, at 1:30 PM in the parlor at Christ Methodist Church, 4488 Poplar Avenue, with her memorial service following at 2:30 PM in the Wilson Chapel.
The Mallory family requests that memorials in Penny's honor be made to Christ Church's Senior Adult Guild.
