Percy Marshall Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 26, 2009.
Percy Marshall was born into this world on August 22, 1964 on a Tuesday evening at 7:45 p.m. in St. Louis, Missouri at Homer G. Phillips Hospital. He was the third of eight children born to Percy Love and Ella Wee Marshall. Percy was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Cornell Love. Percy was raised up and received his education in the St. Louis Public School and Wellston School Districts. In 1982, Percy began working for Marriott Education Services at Washington University in Clayton, Missouri, where he remained for 18 years. He later transferred to the Airport Marriott Hotel in St. Louis, Missouri where he worked as a Service Manager for 9 years until he passed. During his 27 years of service at Marriott, he loved to work with many of the associates and them with him. Percy worked with many different people. He really became friends with the Latino workers, training and hanging out with them. They really enjoyed his friendship. Percy was a cheerful person, and always had something to say about any situation whether good or unusual. He made friends wherever he went. Percy made people feel good by keeping them laughing. He always helped people in any way he could. Percy had a personal relationship with his God. He always would let you know to put God first in anything you do. One of his best scriptures was Proverbs 4:7. "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting, get an understanding. "Percy believed "we should all have knowledge of God and worshiping him." He professed a hope in Christ at an early age and was a member of New Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. He later moved his membership to Williams Temple C.O.G.I.C., where he sang in the choir and served on the Usher Board. Percy departed this life on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 to meet his Creator, and see his spiritual family and friends who has gone on before him, looking forward to that great coming together of all God's people. Percy leaves to cherish his memory, and hope they will keep laughing: his mother, Ella Wee Marshall; four sisters, Marilyn Edward (Michael), Lorraine Love, Catherine Love and Terri Lake (Vance); seven brothers, Ronnie Marshall (Sandra), Timothy Marshall, James Love, Keith Marshall, Mark Marshall, Kenneth Marshall, and Cedric Marshall; aunts, Minister Euple Clark, Eyvonne Thorton, Roosevelt Ball, Eddie Ray Liner, Lottie Dotson and Norma Brown; uncles, Carl Love, Eleasa Love, Harry Love, and Frank Love; god-aunt, Geneva Benton; two god-sisters, Jackie Smothers and Lisa Smothers; god-brother, Darrell Hamilton, Sr.; three god children, Andre Townsend, Darrell Hamilton II, and Panteleone Garcia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and three great neighbors, James Thomas, Robert "Scott" and Mary Jones. (True to his nature Percy wrote his own Life's Reflections). To send a Life Tribute or Condolences to the Marshall family, please click the "Sign Guestbook" link below.
