Perry Eugene Murr, age 74, of Collins, Ohio, passed away on January 22, 2026, surrounded by love.
Perry was born to the late Floyd D. Murr and Burnittia (Schafer) Murr. He was the kind of man everyone loved—known for his big personality, fun-loving spirit, and a way of making people laugh without even trying. A little crazy in the best way, Perry brought joy wherever he went. He was especially proud of being a grandpa, a role he embraced fully and with his whole heart. To his grandchildren, he was not just a grandfather, but a source of fun, comfort, and unforgettable memories.
He is survived by his children Cindy Pelton, Connie Bess, Angel, and Shane; his son-in-law Eric Pelton; his beloved grandchildren Cayla, Dylan, Sydney, Brody, Olivia, James, and Lynk; and his great-grandchildren Hallie, Saige, Waylon, and Charlotte, each of whom brought him immense pride and happiness. He is also survived by his close friend Bob Herold, with whom he shared his home and a special bond.
He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd D. Murr and Burnittia (Schafer) Murr; his siblings Frank Murr, Emma Fife, Lillian Myers, Terry Murr, and Pauline Nelson; his son-in-law Darren Bess; and his close friend Snoozie, all of whom held special places in his heart.
Perry’s love for his family was unmistakable, and his legacy lives on through the laughter, stories, and love he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed. In accordance with Perry’s wishes no services will be held. Eastman Funeral Home, New London is assisting with arrangements.
