Mr. Young was an educator, a genius, a comedian an overall great man. Although he had no children of his own he had hundreds of little family members at every school he taught at. He loved his stuffed animals and his mom. Rest easy friend!

Today, I learned of the passing of Mr. Young, and my heart feels led to honor a man who may not have had family of his own, but who showed up as family for so many.
Mr. Young was a teacher´s aide at Dunbar, but his presence went far beyond his role. He genuinely cared for the students-making snacks with them, spending time with them, and ensuring they felt supported, seen, and safe. His kindness was consistent, quiet, and sincere.
What many may not know is the depth of his heart. He visited his mother every single day while she was in a care facility, faithfully showing up for her until she passed away. That devotion speaks volumes about the kind of son-and the kind of man-he was.
On a personal level, Mr. Young meant more to my family than I can fully express. He would make me food when I came in for parent-teacher conferences. He always took time to pray with me whenever I asked. When my daughter was sick, he picked her up from school and even attended a parent-teacher conference with me. Those are not small things. That is love in action.
He helped however he could, whenever he could, without expecting recognition. He lived a life of service, compassion, and humility.
Though he may not have family to stand for him now, please know this: he mattered. He was deeply loved. He made a lasting difference. His kindness lives on in the students he cared for, the lives he touched, and the hearts that remember him.
Rest in peace, Perry M. Young.
Your life was meaningful, and your legacy will not be forgotten.

Mr. Young was one of the best teachers and he always made me smile. He would make up these silly songs that got stuck in everyone´s head. When we were done with our work, he would always let us go in his classroom and give us snacks. He was overall a very funny, kindhearted soul and I´m gonna miss him a lot.
