Pertina Ward

CELEBRATION OF LIFE
Pertina Ward was born on December 9, 1973 to the late William Ward and Chirly Harris in Salisbury, Maryland. She transitioned to be with the Lord on December 18, 2021, at her residence in Salisbury, Maryland.
Pertina's education began at Marion Sarah Peyton School. She was enrolled at the Somerset Community Center until she became ill. Pertina loved going to the Day Program at the Center. She especially loved her family and friends. When she went to any store, she came out with a Tastykake/Lemon Pie and Coca Cola, all of which she did not like to share.
When Pertina did attend church, she loved to hear people sing. Pertina, (affectionately known as Candy), would sing "Yes, Jesus Loves Me." Pertina was loving, caring, loved to dance and get her hair and nails done. She also loved to dress up so people could see her new clothes. Pertina was loved by everyone she met. If she met you once, she would definitely remember you. Candy loved to give hugs "to know her was to love her."
Pertina leaves to cherish beautiful memories of her life: a loving and caring mother, Chirly Harris of Salisbury, Maryland; three siblings, Panglyn (Granville) Maddox of Princess Anne, Maryland, William (Ellen) Ward, Sr. of Kansas and Pamela Ward of Salisbury, Maryland; five nieces, Tyrea Ward, Talise Ward, Kiara Leatherbury, Ta'sha Ward and Hannah Ward; three nephews, William Ward, Jr., Michael Leatherbury and Jaden Ward; great-nieces, Kamille Ward, Tasharie Wheeler, Dre'Onna Allen, Kayleigh Leatherbury, Taliyah Reid-Ward and one great-nephew, Hassan Dale; two special cousins, who were lovingly more like sisters, Miya Horsey and Sharneka Waters; thirteen aunts; five uncles and a host of other family and friends.
Pertina was preceded in death by her father, maternal and paternal grandparents and a host of uncles, aunts and cousins, "Stink", "Wannie" and "Ray-Ray."
