My deepest sympathy to family and friends of Mr. Pete Dye. Played "Teeth of the Dog" and there was a very beautiful and touching tribute to him. We met in Palm Coast (Hammock Beach Resort) and I have always remembered and appreciated the discussions / laughs we shared; both of us being Buckeyes. God bless

I met Pete Dye as a 22 year old Asst. GC Superintendent for Preston Trail GC in Dallas, TX in 78. He made me his lead shaper as we redesigned 4 Joe Finger greens from an original Ralph Plummer design. His innate kindness and humor guided me through it. Pete has just finished the TPC Stadium course and showed me an Ariel shot of the dirt. The Tour waited another year for it to open due to heavy rains.
I lost track of Pete after that and became a Superintendent on several courses, but always embraced his gentle nature and how he became a father figure for me. Thank you Pete and I will think of you most, in the Pot Bunkers you loves so well!

Pete, thank you for designing so many awesome golf courses. My father enjoyed working with you on projects around Indy, associated with Railroad tie design, specifically at Crooked stick and Brickyard Crossing. He was the owner of AAA Railroad Tie. Hopefully, we will see you again in heaven. God Bless!

Dearest Pete, i hope your family sees this, i met you a little over 2 decades ago. You were nice to me and I in return. We were talking and you told me that if you want something make it happen or try your hardest. Later on i became the youngest female business owner that redid boats from fiberglass, teak wood, etc. Thank you for your kindness and approachability although we only met randomly a few times you actually remembered me and i appreciated that. So rest in piece and i just may take a trip to the ocean course where we met, while i was tending the course working on kiawah. Love to your family and condolences.
