Pete Monroe Renfrow, Jr., age 98, was called home to the Lord on September 12, 2024. Pete left us peacefully, surrounded by family, leaving behind a legacy that reflects a lifetime of hard work, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to his family.

Born on August 29, 1926, Pete grew up with a spirit of resilience and determination that would define his extraordinary life. As a young man, he served his country with honor as a Navy veteran aboard the USS New Jersey during World War II, where he earned the nickname “the fix-it-kid.”

His extraordinary aptitude for problem-solving and innovation served him well throughout his career, beginning as a construction apprentice in the post-war building boom and ultimately retiring from his own construction company. His second career in the poultry industry earned him respect for his improvements in poultry plant operations and efficiencies.

Beyond his professional achievements, Pete was a devoted family man, cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. His stories, often filled with wisdom and humor, will be remembered fondly by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Pete is survived by his three children; Pete (Debbie) Renfrow III, Linda King, and Kathy Renfrow; his grandchildren, Nathan Dreshfield, Lance (Wendy) Renfrow, Marc (Kristen) King, Craig (Karri) Renfrow, Todd (Dana) Renfrow, Jolyne Doyle, Don (Denise) McLain; his great-grandchildren, Reese, Ryley, Mia, Chase, Reid, Brett, Hayden (Callie), Hayley (Danny), Reagan, Ryan, Elli, Emma, Conor (Danielle), Brendan, Brandon (Kelly), and Michael (Amanda); and great-great-grandchildren, Ethan, Jordan, Lynnen, Makya, Micah, Eilee, Presley, Justen, Janara, Maddy, Julien, and Mackenzie.

Preceding Pete in death was his beloved wife of 65 years, Opal; his great-granddaughter, Macey Ann-Marie; his parents and all 10 of his siblings.

A celebration of Pete’s life and funeral with full military honors by Tri-County Memorial Team will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Adams Funeral Home, 504 W. Walnut, Ozark, MO, with Blake Haworth officiating.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Ozark Senior Center, 727 N. 9th St, Ozark, MO 65721.

A special thanks to the dedicated professionals at Haven Hospice, his “family” from the Ozark Senior Center, and the First Baptist Church in Ozark.

Rest in peace, Pete. Your life’s work has left an indelible mark, and you will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know you.
