Peter Simpson

1959 - 2024

"Pete" was born July 25, 1950 in Saltburn by the Sea, North Yorkshire, England, to David and Gertrude Simpson, and was one of 9 children. He passed away on October 28, 2024 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was a time-served painter/decorator with the London Guild, and had his own business for many years. Pete was a member of First Christian Church in Baldwyn, MS, and found fulfillment in his faith and church family. He was dearly loved by all his family.

Pete took great pleasure in his woodwork, sharing with many friends and family. He considered the crosses he made as his personal ministry. Pete also had a passion for his photography.

Pete leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 23 years, Theresa Simpson of Saltillo; his daughters, Yasmine Liddle of Thirsk, England, and Katherine Simpson of Spain; three grandchildren, Michalea Lane, Darren Lane, and Beth Manser of England; and his siblings, Margaret Whyte, of Scotland, and Bob and Dave Simpson of England.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, George, Brian, Jed, and Mick; one sister, Audrey Richardson; his daughter Rachael, and son-in-law Mark Liddle.

Pete donated his body to medical science for research. Memorial services will be held at First Christian Church in Baldwyn, MS on November 23, 2024 at 2:00 pm.
