As the wife of Peter's youngest brother I wish to express my fondness and love for Peter who was in our wedding in Tennessee and made quite an impression on my mother who said she had never been hugged by anyone as much as Peter. He was gracious and generous and we enjoyed having him in our home on so many holidays. We will miss you, Peter.

Farewell and Godspeed...

I'm Richard Fera, son of Rosalie, Uncle Peter's sister. I always admired him for his thoughtfulness, kindness, and the immense experiences he had in the international arena. We spent many a Thanksgiving together at the homes of his brothers and sisters in Virginia.
My mother received news of Uncle Pete's passing while I was in PA. She at 88 years old is now the oldest in the family. She asked me to convey her condolences to his children Rosalie, Elizabeth, Patty, and Peter.
Both Paula and I will see you soon.

I have known Pete since around 1968 mostly through correspondence regarding mutual philatelic interests. I met him in person in Wahington DC in 1977 while I was there TAD from Operation Deep Freeze. I consider Pete to be a close friend and I offer my sincere condolences to his NOK and his family from both myself and the Old Antarctic Explorers Association of which Pete was a life member.
