Peter Bird Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stephen C. Gregory and Son Cremation Service on Dec. 31, 2025.
Peter Lewis Bird, also known as "Frank," passed away unexpectedly in his home on December 23rd, 2025. He was born on December 17th, 1960, to Marilyn and Lewis Bird, being the first of three children.
If you knew Pete, you know that he would be able to tell you any sports statistic about any sport and any team, including high school sports which he enjoyed keeping up with. When his children and nieces were younger and enrolled in sports, he was always their biggest supporter. He was a huge fan of the LA Rams and the LA Lakers, but he loved all sports and loved watching them too. He enjoyed trash talking any team that wasn't his, but it was always in good fun. He often went to watch NASCAR with his brother, Jack as well. He was a big fan of Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Pete loved to play cards, especially the game "skat" and would always want to play a round or two when he visited his family. He could often be found visiting his brother, Jack or his sister, Kim, who just happened to also be his neighbors. His main mode of transportation was his four-wheeler "The Bitch", and he loved to have people take it for a spin.
He was the type of guy who would give you the shirt off his back but also tell you that he "wasn't afraid of nothing." He loved to spoil his nieces and his fur nephew and nieces as well. He doled out nicknames to those he found worthy, and if you ever got a nickname from Pete, you were one "cool fucker." You were really special if he told you that he "loved you like a grape and I hate grapes!" Pete lived his life to the fullest and was always unapologetically himself no matter where he was or who he was talking to. That was one of his greatest attributes.
Pete worked for Colton early in his life and then in 1999, he started working at SD Ireland.
He is survived by his children, Tyler Rochette, Alison Bird, and Brittney Bird. His brother Jack Bird, and wife Sherri, and his sister Kim Dattilio and husband Dana. He is also survived by his four nieces, Kayla Davis and husband Alex, Briana Dattilio, Kirsten Bird, and Sofia Dattilio. He was predeceased by his father, Lewis Bird and his mother, Marilyn Bird.
Per Peter's request, there will be no service. The burial will be in the spring at the convenience of the family. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Peter, please visit our Tree Store.
