Peter Comune Obituary
Peter F. Comune, 88, of Caldwell, N.J., passed away on February 28, 2024.
Visiting will be at Paul Ippolito-Dancy Memorial, 9 Smull Ave., Caldwell, N.J., on Monday, March 4, 2024, from 4-8 PM. A Mass will be at St. Aloysius Church, Caldwell, Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 10:30 a.m., immediately followed by the interment at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield, NJ.

Born in Newark, Mr. Comune lived most of his life in South Orange before moving to Caldwell seven years ago.
Mr. Comune was a special education teacher for the West Orange High School System and Midland Park High School for many years. After retiring in 1995 he mentored students in the Newark School System.
In addition, Mr. Comune was a corrections officer at the Essex County Jail in Caldwell, retiring as a Sergeant. He was a member of the PBA Local No. 157 and No. 600 and a member of the FOP Local 109.
He earned his master's degree in special education from Seton Hall University and later earned post Master Degree Credits from St. Peter's College.
He served in the National Guard during peacetime and was a parishioner of St. Aloysius Church.
The beloved husband of 63 years to Rose (nee Minichino) Comune, he was the loving father of Patrick Comune and his wife, Kathleen, and Peter Comune and is his wife Dina; dear brother of Michael (the late Arlene) Comune, and beloved uncle of Michael Comune, Donna Martuscelli, Louis Comune and the late Nancy Hauter. He is also survived by his cherished granddaughter, Briana Comune.

Peter was family on my grandmothers side. He was also my brothers special Ed teacher. He was such an influence in my brothers life , encouraging him to do more than he thought he could. My parents thought so highly of Peter. Prayers to Rose and their children

Fagan's all 8 went to West Orange high School & my dad George Fagan was custodian at West Orange high School many years. Deepest condolences from our family. Robert Fagan class of 1977. RIP Aldo Pete was a great football coach at WOHS cowboys!!!!

I know pets all my life , marrmy cousin Rosie, Pete was a big guy and a gentile man always a great guy and my mother and father loved Pete RIP Pete worked hard all his life and dealt with special children and criminals had to have patience for both jobs

A wonderful, hard working soul. Mr. Commune was a football coach at West Orange HS in the early 70's. I played for him for 3 years. He was a favorite with all the players because he made football fun. Mr. Comune also worked with my father at the Essex County Penitentiary. Haven't seen Mr Comune since HS, but have many fine memories. Rest in Peace.
