Peter Conklin, 60, of Long Beach, NY passed away suddenly on August 7, 2023. He was the cherished son of John B. Conklin Jr and Nancy (Casano) Conklin. Peter lived a wholesome childhood in Point Lookout, NY with his brother John B. Conklin III. He attended Marie Regina High school which he graduated in 1980. He then attended C.W. Post where he obtained an Associates degree. Peter was a career Firefighter for the City of Long Beach, having been an active member of IAFF 287 for 22 years before retiring in 2002. He dedicated his life to serving the community of Long Beach both as a paramedic and firefighter. Peter was the beloved husband of Julia Conklin. He is survived by his two beloved daughters, Taylor (Conklin) Draine and Olivia Conklin as well as his son in law Robert Draine. He is also preceded by his two adored grandchildren Laylah and Gianna whom they lovingly referred to as "Papa". As well as all his nieces and nephews whom he adored. He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them- and if you knew him, you knew this much was true. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, bravery, and a heart full of love for those who went before him. He will be missed dearly. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 18th, 2023 at 10 o'clock at Our Lady of Miraculous Medal, 75 Parkside Drive, Point Lookout NY.
